Terms.

Lite is free forever. Every account keeps Lite at $0 for as long as Auton offers Lite or its successor plan. There is no join-by date, and accounts that joined during the earlier beta keep the same free-for-life promise. Pro is free during the beta, until paid plans start. Pro is planned at $9.99/month and is not available for purchase.

We will give at least 30 days' notice before Pro becomes a paid plan. When that happens, Lite stays free and your work stays yours. A paid plan requires your explicit choice: no automatic charges.

No card is required, and none is taken. You pay your AI providers separately. Cancellation and refund terms will be published before purchases become available.

Auton End User License Agreement (draft for legal review)

This software ("Auton") is licensed, not sold. By installing or using it you
agree to these terms.

1. License. You may install and use Auton on devices you control, for your own
   use, under the plan attached to your account. You may not copy it for
   others, sell it, rent it, or offer it as a service.
2. Restrictions. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify Auton, or
   remove any notice in it, except where the law says this clause does not
   apply to you.
3. Your content. Auton runs on your machine. Your code, prompts and files stay
   yours. Auton sends nothing of them anywhere except to the model providers
   and services you configure.
4. Third-party components. Auton includes open-source components under their
   own licenses. Their notices and license texts are installed beside the
   application (folder "licenses") and shown in Settings › About. Those
   licenses govern those components.
5. Updates. Auton may check for and install updates to itself.
6. Beta and future subscriptions. Every account keeps Lite at no charge for
   as long as Auton offers the Lite plan or its successor ("free forever").
   There is no deadline to join. Accounts that joined Lite during the earlier
   beta keep the same promise ("free for life"). Pro is offered at no charge
   during the beta, until paid plans start, and at least 30 days' notice will
   be given before Pro becomes a paid plan. Pro is planned at USD 20/month, or
   USD 15/month billed yearly. Payments are currently disabled. A paid plan
   requires your explicit choice; the end of the beta never starts a
   subscription or charges you automatically. Your work and data remain yours.
   Future purchase, cancellation and refund terms will be published before
   paid plans become available.
7. No warranty. Auton is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to
   the fullest extent the law allows.
8. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, the
   publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its
   total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months
   before the claim.
9. Termination. This license ends if you break these terms. On termination,
   stop using Auton and delete your copies.
10. Changes. The current version of these terms is published on the website;
   material changes are announced in the application.
